Des Moines Streetstyle Open 9/23-9/25!
Skate DSM wanted to host a contest that would become a yearly thing so we called up the buddies over at The Boardr to see if they would be down to help and of course they said yes. Local BBQ spot Jethro's said we got some cash to help out. Then Red Bull said count them in. Well next thing you know we came up with a plan and BOOM Des Moines Streetstyle Open was born.
Thursday 9/23 we will have a throw back street jam out front of the shop. Street Plant is gonna have a best trick contest. It will be a nice welcome to the city jam.
After we wrap up in the streets we will be heading over to COA for a mellow after party. This will be 21 up....
Friday 9/24 We will be starting the day off at the capital building. Nothing says good morning better then jumping down some stairs. After the capital we will make our way to the junction stage for more skate action. After that we will be skating down to Legion park with a pop contest at the skatepark. We do have a couple food trucks at the park as well.
After the contest we will head over to the Hull in the junction. All are invited. It is a all ages spot. Shop rider Mirza will be showing his new video "Side-Lot" Hime and the crew have been working their butts off...
Saturday 9/25 Is the big contest at the park. Meals from Jethro's BBQ will be available for purchase. There will be a Women's and Men's contest.
After party will be at Captain Roy's
We truly hope everyone comes out and supports. Even if you don't want to skate. The goal is to create something that gets bigger and better each year.
